I have been fascinating by painting ever since I can remember: The tortured energy of Van Gogh's swirls, the glittering light of Constable's canvases, the vibrant colors of Cezanne's landscapes, the clear lines of Mondrian's geometric pictures. And all the other brilliant artists who captured the essence of life with paint: Rembrandt, Dali, Monet, Malevich, Chagall — to name only a few more.
